03 Our philosophy
Empowerment is the whole point.
We help you understand yourself — your mind, body, emotions, habits and experiences — and how they work together to shape how you feel. Because when you understand it, you can change it.
i.
Feeling bad isn't always being broken
Stress, worry, sadness and grief are often natural, appropriate responses to life. Part of the work is telling a normal reaction apart from a symptom that needs care — that's what "life starts lifeing" means.
ii.
Not just erasing feelings — or reaching for a pill
The goal isn't to numb every hard emotion or jump straight to medication. Care is collaborative: education, coping skills, therapy, lifestyle change — and medication only when it's genuinely the right tool.
iii.
Mind and body move together
Because the two are deeply connected, we build sustainable habits — sleep, nutrition, movement, stress and relationships — that support lasting, lifelong change instead of a quick fix.

07 Good questions
Before your first visit
Do you take my insurance?
We're in-network with Aetna, Carelon, Cigna Healthcare, Anthem (Blue Cross Blue Shield) and Magellan Health. If your plan isn't listed, send us a message and we'll verify your coverage before your first appointment — no surprises.
Is everything done online?
Yes. Empower is a telehealth-only practice serving patients throughout California by secure, HIPAA-compliant video. You can be seen from home, work or anywhere private in the state — there is no in-person office.
Do you see teenagers?
Yes — we care for both adolescents and adults. For minors, a parent or guardian is involved in the intake and care plan.
Will I be put on medication?
Not automatically. Medication is only one tool, used when it's clinically appropriate. Care may also include education, coping skills, therapy and lifestyle changes — we decide together.
What are your hours?
Appointments are available Monday and Wednesday evenings (6–10 PM) and Friday mornings (10 AM–2 PM). Evening slots are designed to fit around work and school.
What happens after I send the form?
We'll reach out — usually within one business day — to confirm your insurance, answer questions and schedule your first visit. Only your email is required to start.
